Residents of Airdrie and the surrounding area are being urged to exercise caution, as a fog advisory is currently in effect.

Environment Canada issued the advisory on Thursday evening before nine, highlighting hazardous driving conditions.

Fog patches are reducing visibility to near zero in certain areas, and these conditions are expected to persist throughout Thursday night. Visibility is forecasted to improve by Friday morning, but until then, drivers should prepare for challenging travel conditions.

Motorists are advised to stay alert for sudden changes in visibility, which could drop quickly to near zero in some spots, creating dangerous road conditions.

Currently, the QEII towards Calgary's city limits is in good condition; however, north of Airdrie and Crossfield, there are reports of fog patches developing. Fog patches are also developing in Calgary along Stoney Trail.
