One person has died, and several others were injured following a vehicle crash near Brooks.
The 51-year-old was a passenger in an SUV at the time and was killed at the scene.
According to an RCMP news release, on Saturday (Nov. 16) around 9:18 a.m., first responders were called to a crash between an SUV and a pickup truck on Highway 36 south of the intersection of Highway 542.
"Upon arrival, emergency services personnel attended to multiple injured parties as both vehicles had been occupied by families with children. The injured persons, seven in total, were taken to hospital for the treatment of very serious but non-life- threatening injuries," wrote police.
RCMP say the road was closed for several hours and the cause of the crash is under investigation. However, poor road conditions are believed to be a contributing factor.
