With the snow continuing to fall, several collisions are being reported on area highways on Monday morning.

West of Airdrie, an overturned vehicle on Highway 1 eastbound near Morley Road led to a right-hand lane closure, with emergency crews attending to the scene earlier this morning; however, the scene has since been cleared. Also this morning, southeast of Airdrie, a jackknifed semi-trailer had closed westbound Highway 1 near Township Road 240, just before Highway 561 east of Strathmore. The road has since re-opened.
A multi-vehicle collision involving over 12 vehicles in the westbound lanes of Highway 1, between Highway 842 and Highway 56, has also been cleared.
While there are no reports of collisions on the QEII, southbound and northbound of Airdrie, motorists are being reminded to drive very carefully. Road conditions are challenging, with icy shoulders, slush, black ice, slippery surfaces, and packed snow and ice.
