Weather is likely going to continue to impact commuting
While the snow warning for Airdrie and surrounding areas has ended, it is not the last of this week's winter weather. Despite a break from snowfall, residents can expect colder-than-usual temperatures, with more flurries possible.
Today, lingering fog patches will dissipate by morning, giving way to a mix of clouds and a 30 per cent chance of flurries. Temperatures will hold steady around -6, with light winds and a wind chill making it feel closer to -12.
Tonight, skies will remain partly cloudy, and temperatures will drop to -12, reaching -17 overnight with the wind chill.
Tomorrow, the chance of flurries will increase to 60 per cent by the afternoon. Daytime highs will be around -8, with the wind chill making it feel like -18 in the morning. Cloudy conditions will persist into the evening, with more flurries likely and temperatures dropping to -15.
Looking ahead, Thursday will be cloudy with a high of -12. Snow is expected to begin in the evening and continue through Friday, with temperatures lingering in the -12 range during the day and falling to the mid-minus teens overnight.
The snowy trend will continue into the weekend, with periods of snow and flurries expected on both Saturday and Sunday. Daytime highs will range between -12 and -14, with lows dipping to -17 at night.
A slight break is expected on Monday, November 25, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of -8.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution as previous snowfalls may melt and re-freeze under the cold conditions, making roads slippery.
