Tracy Lyons, manager of the Kindersley Klippers Sledge Hockey Club, noted the town’s significance in the sport’s development. “Kindersley had the only sledge-accessible arena in Saskatchewan until 2018 when a sledge-accessible arena was built in Saskatoon at the Merlis Belcher Place,” Lyons said.
The arena’s accessibility has made sledge hockey an integral part of Kindersley’s identity and a source of pride for the community.
