The folk and country band The Travelling Mabels are heading to town on Saturday (Nov. 23) at the Strathmore Travelodge.
The Strathmore Musical Arts Society is bringing the band in for a special holiday-themed event.
The group consists of Lana Floen, Therry Lawson, Keith Floen, and Eva Levesque.
Levesque is one of the singers with the band and she says they met at a party in Winnipeg in 2008.
"The three of us were there. Suzanne, my daughter, was playing with Gord Bamford at the time. We went there to support her because she was nominated for bass player of the year."
The seasonal show in Strathmore will focus on a mix of Christmas and old gospel tunes.
The band also won the Inspirational/Holiday Recording of the Year during the 2024 YYC Music Awards.
"It's going to be a very exciting and uplifting evening for you all, and we'll be glad to see you there," added Levesque.
The doors open at 6 p.m.
