UNITY
Unity RCMP responded to several incidents over the week, including fraud investigations, traffic-related issues, and public safety concerns.

  • Mental Health Act Complaint: Officers attended and transported the individual to Unity Health Centre for assessment via Emergency Medical Services.
  • Outstanding Warrant: Members executed a warrant on a local individual.
  • Fraud Complaints: Two separate reports of fraud were filed. One remains under investigation, while insufficient evidence prevented action on the second.
  • Criminal Harassment: A complaint was filed and is currently being investigated.
  • Theft: Insufficient evidence to proceed in a theft complaint.
  • Dog Bite Incident: A report of a dog biting an individual remains under investigation.
  • Collision with a Sign: Police responded to a vehicle collision involving a sign. The driver received a traffic ticket and a seven-day roadside suspension.
  • Traffic Stops: One resulted in a 72-hour roadside suspension.
  • Two-Vehicle Collision: A collision in Unity remains under investigation.
  • Other Reports: Three traffic complaints and one false alarm were also logged.

WILKIE
The Wilkie RCMP handled a range of incidents, from theft charges to welfare checks.

  • Animal Complaints: Two reports were received, but insufficient evidence prevented action in one case.
  • Child and Family Services Request: Officers assisted with a home visit.
  • Theft Charges: A 41-year-old Wilkie woman was charged with two counts of theft.
  • Wellbeing Check: Conducted at the request of a concerned citizen.
  • Animal Welfare: Police spoke with an individual about a welfare concern and are investigating a case involving injury to animals.
  • Other Reports: Nine traffic complaints and two false 911 calls were reported.

MACKLIN
Macklin RCMP investigated several theft complaints and addressed public safety concerns.

  • Theft Investigations: Several thefts were reported, with one involving a local gas station. The subject of complaint returned to pay for the fuel, and no charges were laid. Other cases remain under investigation.
  • Bank Card Recovery: A bank card was turned in, but officers were unable to contact the owner.
  • Assault Complaint: This remains under investigation.
  • Deer Collision: Police received a report of a vehicle collision with a deer. No injuries were reported, and the incident was documented for insurance purposes.
  • Wellbeing Check: Conducted at the request of a family friend.
