You'll want to keep your shovels handy this weekend as a snowfall warning has been issued for much of the southern half of the province.
Rob Griffith is a lead meteorologist with Environment & Climate Change Canada.
"We're expecting snow to begin in the Lacombe area late afternoon, maybe early evening and it will keep going through Saturday," he explained. "Intensity will vary Friday night but expecting it to be fairly heavy beginning Saturday morning."

Griffith says Red Deer could see up to 25 cm by Sunday morning, while areas east could receive up to 35 cm.
"The high snowfall amounts are just from very high snow-to-liquid ratios," he noted. "We've got cold air in place over Alberta and very moist Pacific air coming in with this storm. It will just be quite fluffy and it will accumulate quite quickly on Saturday."
The one positive is that the winds are expected to be minimal.
Daytime highs for Friday and Saturday are expected to be around minus 10 with the temperature starting to fall as the storm winds down. The overnight low on Sunday could hit minus 22.
"If possible, it might be good to make alternative arrangements for Saturday. If you have to travel be aware that the highway will likely be covered in snow," added Griffith.
