UPDATED 10 pm
Travel conditions are rapidly deteriorating across west central Saskatchewan as heavy snowfall and drifting snow continue to impact the region. Authorities are advising against travel in many areas, including Rosetown, Macklin, Unity, and Wilkie, where road conditions have become increasingly treacherous.
As the evening progresses, travel advisories are expected to expand further, with snow and reduced visibility complicating driving across much of the region. The Saskatchewan Highway Hotline reports fully snow-covered roads, blowing snow, and poor visibility in several areas.
The snowfall warning issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) remains in effect, forecasting total accumulations of 15 to 25 centimetres before the storm subsides.
Motorists are urged to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary and to monitor the Highway Hotline for real-time updates. Residents are reminded to take extra precautions and prioritize safety as the storm continues into the night.
