West central Saskatchewan is beginning the cleanup process after a significant winter storm blanketed the region with heavy snow. The storm, which delivered between 25 and 30 centimetres of snowfall around Kindersley, has started to move east, leaving behind a challenging aftermath.

As of 6 a.m., travel remains hazardous in many areas. The Saskatchewan Highway Hotline continues to report "travel not recommended" warnings for a large swath of the region. Fully snow-covered roads, drifting snow, and reduced visibility are ongoing issues as crews work to clear highways and local roads.

The snowfall warning issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada has ended for most of the region, but its impact is still being felt. Kindersley, Rosetown, and surrounding communities face extensive snow removal efforts, with plows working overtime to restore safe passage on roads and highways.

Residents are advised to exercise caution while travelling or clearing snow, as surfaces remain slippery and visibility may still be reduced in some areas due to lingering snowdrifts. Drivers are encouraged to check the Highway Hotline before heading out and to allow extra time for their journeys.
