Bishop T.D. Jakes is recovering after experiencing a medical incident while preaching a sermon on Sunday.

In a live stream of Sunday's service, Jakes, 67, founder and senior pastor of The Potter’s House Church, can be seen lowering his mic before his body begins to shudder and twitch. People then began rushing to the stage to help him.

"During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message," said the church in a Facebook post. "Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals."

Bishop T.D. Jakes' daughter, Sarah Jakes and son-in-law, Toure Roberts also posted a video updating congregants, family and friends on his condition.

"I know that today has been an interesting day for us but we didn't want to lay down before giving you an update on Bishop," said his daughter, Sarah. "We want to thank you for your prayers, and support. It's truly been a blessing."

"[Sunday] could've been a tragic day, but it wasn't by the mercy of God. By the grace of God, Bishop is doing well," said Toure Roberts. "He's recovering well. He's under medical care. He's strong."

The church says the entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community.

The Potter's House was founded in 1996. Since then, it has grown to over 30,000 members.
