The Christmas season is in full swing, and with it comes the Salvation Army’s annual Christmas kettle campaign.
The goal for this year’s kettle campaign is an ambitious $650,000, but as of Friday, November 22, donations have reached $47,000.
“There’s been a bit of a challenge this year with the mail service, so we’re encouraging people to donate directly into the kettles or through our online platforms,” Captain Kim explained.
For those who prefer online contributions, the option to donate digitally or via tap-enabled kettles makes giving easier than ever. Donations can also be dropped off directly at the food bank.
As the Christmas Kettle Campaign ramps up, the Salvation Army is seeking volunteers to help man the iconic red kettles. Captain Kim emphasized the need for more hands.
“We know there are people who’ve been thinking about volunteering but haven’t reached out yet,” he said. “We’d be happy to hear from anyone willing to join us for this important cause.”
