Parking bans on permanent snow routes and residential snow clearing begin Monday, November 25.
The parking ban restricts parking on permanent snow routes (Priority 1 and 2 roads) from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Friday, until the ban is lifted. The restriction ensures safe and efficient access to roadways during snow removal operations.
Residents are reminded to remove parked vehicles from Priority 1 and 2 roads during the ban. A notice will be posted on the City’s website and social media channels once the ban is lifted.
“Adhering to parking bans on key routes supports timely snow removal for emergency vehicles, buses and residents,” said Transportation Director Wade Nellis. “We encourage residents to check the City’s website for updates and relocate vehicles from Priority 1 and 2 routes during bans.”
Residential Snow Clearing Starts Monday
A round of residential snow clearing begins Monday, November 25. Snow removal in residential areas is initiated when declared by the City, based on snow accumulation and forecasted weather.
Snow clearing in residential areas occurs on a two-week rotation, with work completed by contracted crews from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All neighbourhoods are assigned to a "Week A" or "Week B" schedule. Crews will clear all residential roads within both Week A and Week B areas over the two-week rotation. The current rotation starts Monday in Week A areas.
