100 per cent of the money raised will be donated to local charities, community groups and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.

In Altona, the beneficiary is The Community Exchange (TCE), and the Morris portion will help enhance the outdated playground at Morris School and bring it up to current safety and accessibility standards.

"When we started the planning for our “Holiday Smile Cookie Campaign”, we imagined it going beyond a cookie," said The Community Exchange Executive Director Paul Peters in an emailed statement. "The cookie was simply an avenue for putting a smiles on the faces of residents in our community. One of my favourite parts of the day was going to Tim Horton’s to pick up our daily cookies for decorating. I was always greeted with a smile, and a feeling like the team at Tim’s was working with us. It felt like a true team. Big shout out to Raj, and the staff at Tim Horton’s, you were a major part in the success of this experience."

Peters added he can’t help but remember all the smiles of folks who came out to decorate, deliver, and support the group.

"We had the high school student council, local business leaders, and community members out to decorate/deliver. We might need a bit of time to recover, but would look forward to running another campaign one day."
