It's been a year since Nicole Weider was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and as of one week ago, she is officially in remission.
The former Victoria's Secret model who gave up her modelling career to follow Jesus announced the good news on her Instagram page, saying she is thankful to be alive.
"Today I mark one year as a breast cancer survivor!!" said Weider. "I give all the glory to Jesus."
Through her journey, Nicole did eight rounds of chemotherapy, 33 sessions of radiation, a lumpectomy and Phesgo.
"I have had to pull a strength within myself and my mind I didn’t know was possible as well as a sense of optimism and hope and not a sour “poor me” attitude. I don’t have time to think like that because if I did, everything would be worse."
Amid this battle, Nicole also announced they were expecting a baby via a surrogate. Their son, Luke was born May 22, 2024, at 9lbs, 6 oz, the same birthday as her daughter Elodie.
"Now that I’m in remission I’m slowly building my life back," said Weider. "Thank you for the prayers and kind words. I have had so many people pray for me and my life and I am so grateful. Truly. I don’t take a day for granted and I thank God every day."
