A multi-vehicle collision on the QEII highway near Bowden early Tuesday morning resulted in four people being injured and one animal being killed.

At 7:34 a.m., Olds RCMP received a report of a semi-tractor-trailer unit that had flipped onto its side, blocking all southbound lanes.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene, where they tended to four individuals who sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, all are expected to make a full recovery.
The investigation revealed that the semi-truck had rolled over and come to rest across the highway.
While the semi-driver was being assisted by a good Samaritan outside their vehicle, a Ford F350, which was towing a cattle trailer, struck the overturned rig.
This second collision injured the semi driver, the good Samaritan, and the two occupants of the Ford truck. One of the three cows in the cattle trailer was killed as a result of the incident.
RCMP remained on scene for several hours, assisting with the investigation and coordinating the removal of the vehicles and trailers.
The highway has since been cleared, and normal traffic flow has resumed.
