Friday morning on the roads for Airdrie motorists may be challenging as winter driving conditions persist.

Drivers heading onto the QEII both south and north of the city should be prepared for areas of highway partly covered in snow, with icy sections and snow accumulation on the shoulders. Blowing snow is also affecting the region, although visibility remains good. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously and allow extra time for travel as snow continues to fall.

Some city streets in Airdrie are slick, especially at intersections. Calgary roads continue to be partly covered in snow and ice.

Residents can expect a wintry mix of weather today. Cloudy skies and a small chance of flurries this morning will clear to a mix of sun and cloud by the afternoon. Morning fog patches should dissipate late this morning. Temperatures will reach a high of -12°C, with a wind chill near -20°C. Tonight, mainly cloudy skies will bring a low of -22°C, with wind chills dropping to -26°C overnight.

Saturday will start cloudy, and by late morning, we will transition to a mix of sun and clouds. A high of -16°C is forecast, with brisk wind chills of -27°C in the morning and -20°C later in the day. Overnight, expect cloudy periods and a low of -24°C.
