A sparkle of joy has been added to the Nelon family after a year of tragedy.
On Sunday, Dec. 1, Autumn Nelon Streetman and her husband, Jamie, welcomed their son Rhett James Streetman to the world.
Rhett was born just before 8 p.m. weighing in at 7lbs, 9oz.
"The hardest but most rewarding thing I’ve ever done," said Autumn in a post on Facebook. "Happy birthday Mama, I think you would love this birthday gift."
In late July, three members of the Grammy-nominated gospel band, The Nelons, died in a tragic plane crash in Wyoming.
When the tragedy struck, the family group were on their way to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska.
The crash claimed the lives of Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, Amber and Nathan Kistler and their assistant, Melodi Hodges. The pilot, Larry Haynie and his wife, Melissa were also killed in the crash.
Autumn, the youngest in the group and her husband Jaime Streetman, were not on the plane. They arrived safely in Seattle where they received the news that their family had perished in a plane crash.
Rhett is Autumn and Jamie's first child.
