On Nov. 28, 2024 at approximately 2:00 p.m., while tending to another call to service, noticed potential fire at an apartment building on 99 Street, Peace River. 

Peace Regional RCMP requested the assistance of the Peace River Fire Department as community members were alerting 911 dispatchers of the fire. 

RCMP were able to enter the building and immediately began knocking on doors in attempt to warn occupants who had not started to make their way out of the building.

Through the course of the investigation, is has been learned that the fire is not suspicious in nature.

Peace Regional RCMP would like to extend appreciation to all agencies who assisted, including Emergency Medical Services, ATCO, building management, Town of Peace River and more; Peace Regional RCMP thanks the public for any assistances, and for respecting the scene and area to give space to all emergency services involved.

Beyond this, Peace Regional RCMP would like to highlight all local businesses who brought food, water, coffee and other supplies to emergency crews and displaced persons.
