Franklin Graham shared the gospel over two days in Vietnam during the Season of Love Festival where over 24,000 people showed up, even during the pouring rain.

"The Gospel transcends all languages and cultures," says Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA). "We praise God for the hundreds of people whose hearts were moved and they responded to the invitation to trust Jesus Christ as their Savior and follow Him as Lord of their lives!"

The event was held at the Cần Thơ Stadium which was put on with the collaboration of 315 local churches.

"We're there to share the love of Christ," said Festival Director Derek Forbes. "We really have been given a lot of freedom."

The first night 14,000 people came out to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. The second night, even though it was pouring rain, 10,000 people still showed up. During that time roughly 1,200 people made a public declaration to follow Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

"Rain is a sign of God's blessing in the Bible, and today we saw God pour out His blessings on Vietnam," Graham shared on Facebook early Wednesday. "It was a privilege to see so many people respond to God's invitation to receive Jesus Christ by faith tonight."

Although Vietnam is a communist country, BGEA continues to find opportunities to host Christian events there. Many people that attend are either Athiest or of Buddhist belief.

"I asked them if their souls were safe and secure in the hands of Almighty God," says Graham. "There are not many roads to God. There is only one road—and that's through the cross of Jesus Christ."

One 60-year-old woman, Nguyen, talked about her decision to follow Christ during the gospel event.

"Ever since I was a teenager, I avoided making a decision to follow Jesus because Buddhism was familiar," said Nguyen. "I heard every word Franklin Graham said. I listened very carefully when he said if I seek (God), I will find Him. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior, and I want to follow Jesus as my Lord."
