It will be a return to the glory days in Marysburg on Sunday.
The Marysburg and area choir will be performing some of the festive favourites inside of the Marysburg Assumption Church with a “Welcome Back to a Marysburg Christmas.”
One of the members of the choir, John Brinkmeier says this will mark the first performance for the group since COVID pandemic.
“We used to do a regional choir Christmas concert, full two-hour show with supper and everything, but we’re starting smaller, and we’re going to try and get it going again.”
The performance on Sunday with be approximately 75 minutes according to Brinkmeier, adding that the concert will be held in the Marysburg Assumption Church which is almost fully restored after renovations over the last 20 years.
Once an annual tradition in Marysburg, Brinkmeier noted the performance is an interactive event.
“We call it a Christmas sing-along,” he said.
There are 28 members of the choir, Brinkmeier explained, adding it’s a true regional group with individuals mainly from Humboldt, Middle Lake and Lake Lenore comprising the group.
Leading up to the final performance on Sunday, Brinkmeier says the group practiced on three occasions to final tune their notes for the concert.
Tickets are available at the door, with admission by donation. The concert will begin at 2:00.
