The family of Mr. Clarence Striker age 84 years of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan are saddened to announce his passing on December 5, 2024 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current.
Clarence was born in Biggar, Saskatchewan on January 27, 1940 to Fred and Vera Striker. Clarence married Amy Striker nee (Drake) on July 8, 1972.
In 1985, Clarence became a lease operator of a new Co-op Gas Bar in Saskatoon. He negotiated for his gas bar to be first “We serve” in Saskatoon Co-op. Within a year, all of the Saskatoon Co-op’s moved to “We Serve” and within a few more years all Saskatchewan Co-op gas stations followed suit. We are so proud of Clarence’s decisions that led to so many jobs for people in Saskatchewan.
Clarence spent the last two years of his life living in Swift Current at the Bentley. He met many great friends and marveled at the friendliness and level of service he experienced in Swift Current. He cherished the time he spent watching Griffin and Mackenna on the soccer pitch, basketball court and playing in the band.
Clarence is survived by sons: Ronald (Karen) and Chad (Heather); grandchildren: Griffin and Mackenna; brother Ted; sister Valdeane and numerous nieces and nephews. Clarence is predeceased by his wife Amy of 50 years; parents Fred and Vera Striker; brothers: Lloyd, Stanley and Gwellyn.
