The family of Mrs. Judith Jo Nelson are saddened to announce her passing on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at the Meadows in Swift Current, Saskatchewan following a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma. At this time, there will be no formal funeral service held.
Judith Jo Hage was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Belvidere, Illinois, on Friday, February 8, 1952 to H. Conrad and Vera Angie Hage who lived in Garden Prairie, Illinois at the time. The family moved to Belvidere in 1959, where Judy attended local schools. In 1967 the family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where Judy graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1970 and Colorado State University in 1974 with a degree in Animal Production.
The years that followed saw Judy in Wisconsin, Maine, Alaska and Montana, as she pursued her passion of working with dogs and horses. While in Montana Judy met her future husband, Ron Nelson, whom she married on July 8, 2009, near High River, Alberta. After several years, the couple relocated to Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Ron’s hometown. While there Judy enjoyed playing and working with her small dog and meeting several of Ron’s friends.
Judy is survived by her husband Ron Nelson; brother John Hage (Christie); nieces: Julianne, Andrea, and Shawna, and other family in the USA.
The family wishes to thank the staff of The Meadows for their caring and support of Judy during her time there.
