Three southern Manitoba farms have snagged Watershed District Awards
Doled out annually by the Manitoba Association of Watersheds and Manitoba’s 14 Watershed Districts, the awards recognize the outstanding contributions of individuals directly associated with the growth and success of watershed districts in the province.
The Dogs Run Farm, located in Clearwater in the Pembina Valley Watershed District, is operated Colin & Katie McInnes.
Also in the Pembina Valley Watershed District is Fresh Roots Farm in Cartwright operated by Troy Stozek & Michelle Schram.
Finally, Ale Riedstra of Riedbow Dairy in the Redboine Watershed District.
Meantime, Randy Dow of the Pembina Valley Watershed District was presented with the Watershed Staff Builder Award.
Randy joined the Pembina Valley Watershed District in 1997 and still holds the position of Resource Technician over 26 years later.
Apart from delivering the district’s "on the ground" program, Randy has trained many summer students, has ongoing communication with other districts, and has organized technician meetings and workshops over the years
