Airdrie drivers may face challenging conditions this morning on the QEII, both north and south of the city.

There are reports that the night's snowfall has meant blowing snow, and continued dense fog patches are creating slippery stretches. Icy sections, black ice, and snow-covered shoulders add to the hazards. Reduced visibility in some areas is expected, making travel hazardous. Calgary roads have been reported to be in similar condition.

Periods of light snow are forecast to end late this morning, followed by a mix of sun and clouds. Fog patches will dissipate as the morning progresses, but temperatures will remain frigid, with a high of minus 16 and wind chills near minus 24.

Conditions are expected to worsen tonight as clouds roll in, bringing two to four centimetres of snow and slightly warmer temperatures, rising to minus 13 by morning.

Drivers are urged to use caution, turn on headlights in low-visibility areas, and maintain a safe following distance.

A fog advisory ended on Tuesday morning for Airdrie and the surrounding areas.
