The deadline to nominate a deserving woman in agriculture is coming up fast.

The Women in Agriculture Award is run by the Wheatland County's Agriculture and Environment department.

"Nominate an outstanding woman in agriculture who inspires with her dedication, innovation, and impact in farming or ranching," wrote the county in a news release. "Whether she’s breaking new ground in sustainability, supporting rural communities, or leading the way in agricultural technology, we want to celebrate her achievements and contributions to our agricultural community."

According to a recent interview with StrathmoreNow, Alyssa Hallgrimson, the agriculture and environmental program coordinator with the county says winners will receive a certificate along with $250 to put toward an initiative of their choosing and there are only a few requirements to be nominated.

"Growing up on a farm or ranch and showing resilience, innovation, and leadership throughout the area. Like growing crops or cattle, being involved in communities, and empowering fellow farmers."

The nomination forms can be found here.
