The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation was presented with a $4M donation from the Rotary Wellness Centre Society at the Festival of Trees Gala Evening on November 16, 2024.
The Foundation and the Rotary Wellness Centre Society are in partnership to create the Ken Sargent House in Grande Prairie. This supported accommodation house will serve as a home away from home for patients receiving medical care at Grande Prairie Regional Hospital and their families
Rotary Wellness Centre Society donated $2M and has committed another $2M towards the cost of the construction. The house will be built near the hospital on an acre of land donated by Northwestern Polytechnic. The Foundation will oversee all fundraising, construction and future operations of the facility.
This milestone agreement lays the foundation for an impactful regional resource to alleviate the stress and financial burden on families during a challenging time.
The success of this initiative is bolstered by the longstanding support of Ken Sargent. In November 2023, Ken Sargent committed a significant gift supporting the future operating costs of the facility, ensuring the house can sustain services for years to come.
