Highway 1 lane closed after serious car crash near Strathmore

One of the westbound lanes on Highway 1 was blocked by firefighters on Thursday (Dec. 19) following a serious car crash.

Police received a call at around 8:15 a.m. to assist an ambulance with a T-bone crash at the intersection of Range Road 254 just outside of Strathmore.

According to RCMP, the crash was between a Subaru Outback and an Infiniti G35. One of the people involved in the collision suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

One of the drivers was charged with failure to proceed safely after stopping at an intersection.

There were slight delays in traffic near the intersection as emergency services worked to clear the scene.
