"Exposed people born in or since 1970 who have received fewer than two doses of measles-containing vaccine, who are pregnant, under one year of age, or have a weakened immune system are at greatest risk and should contact Health Link at 811 as they may be eligible for medication to reduce the risk of developing measles," mentioned AHS in a news release.
AHS says anyone who was at any of the locations above is recommended to review their immunization records and monitor themselves for symptoms of measles.
Symptoms of measles include a fever of 38.3° C or higher, cough, runny nose, or red eyes, and a red blotchy rash that takes place three to seven days after the fever starts, starting behind the ears and on the face and spreading down the body and then to the arms and legs.
