The following Christmas greeting was provided by Sask NDP leader Carla Beck

I want to wish you and your family a merry Christmas and a happy new year from everyone here at the Saskatchewan NDP Caucus.

No matter how you celebrate this holiday season, I hope you get to spend time with your loved ones and close friends as 2024 comes to an end.

Like many of you, this is my favourite time of the year.

What makes it special to me are the traditions we build and look forward to every year.

For our family, we’ll be heading back home to Lang.

We’ve got a big family and we always look forward to lacing up the skates and hitting the ice at our local rink.

And who doesn’t love a good cheesy Christmas movie – some of which were filmed right here in our beautiful province with our talented film crews.

This is a season of hope, generosity, and gratitude, and this season reminds us of what we should strive for, all year long.

I do want to take a moment to pay special recognition to those frontline workers who will continue to perform essential services right through the holidays. Those who have dedicated themselves to a higher calling, sacrificing time with their own families this holiday season to keep us all safe. Thank you for all you do.

I have to say this year has flown by in the blink of an eye, but it has been incredible on so many fronts.

These last few months, I’ve had the privilege of travelling all over Saskatchewan and, while I have always loved this incredible place we call home, I find myself filled with even deeper admiration and respect for the hardworking people here.

The people of Saskatchewan are kind.

We take care of each other.

We get things done.

And that is never more true than during the Holiday season. It really is the season of giving.

So, with that in mind, I encourage you to donate to a local food bank, shovel your neighbours’ walk or consider volunteering for your favourite local charity.

Let’s come together this season and give back to a community that is so special and has given us so much in 2024.

After all, we do know there are still many people who will go without this holiday season — and if we can all help out where we can – a little can go a long way.

Remember – our provincial motto is “From many peoples’ strength.”

Saskatchewan has always been stronger together.

As we look to the new year and 2025, we know there’s still a lot more work to do.

We can build something better. I truly believe this because I’ve seen what’s possible when we come together.

Frankly, I’m more hopeful than ever before.

And, man, that hope feels good.

So, no matter where you live, who is at your table,

From all of us here with your Saskatchewan NDP Caucus, from our families to yours, I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and all the best in this coming new year.
