An Alberta clipper swept through the area yesterday bringing heavy snowfall and cold temperatures. Environment Canada Meteorologist Danielle Dejardins explains tonight will see similarly cold temperatures before less severe weather moves in.
“Just one more kind of cooler night. We're expecting wind chills into the minus 30s overnight tonight. Not quite extreme warning criteria but still will be pretty cold nonetheless.”
She predicts the next few days will see a weaker impulse tracking through the lower part of the province, providing a few more centimetres of snow before the holidays.
“That's the only other significant precipitation we're seeing leading up to Christmas. After that, the temperatures look to be warming up, looking even to possibly reach zero just ahead of Christmas. Much warmer than we've been seeing and much warmer than the normals for this time of year.”
