Patchy freezing rain is forecast to impact Alberta early this morning, creating potentially hazardous conditions for commuters with holiday travel plans.
Environment Canada warns that surfaces including highways, roads, sidewalks, and parking lots could quickly become icy and slippery, increasing the risk of accidents.
Travellers are advised to exercise caution and stay informed by monitoring updates and weather alerts issued by Environment Canada.

- Beaver Co. near Tofield
- Camrose Co. near Bawlf and Rosalind
- Camrose Co. near Camrose and Bittern Lake
- Camrose Co. near Hay Lakes and Miquelon Lake Prov. Park
- Camrose Co. near New Norway Edberg and Ferintosh
- City Of Edmonton
- Co. of Minburn near Vegreville Inland and Warwick
- Co. of Two Hills near Willingdon and Hairy Hill
- Co. of Wetaskiwin near Wetaskiwin Millet and Hwy 2
- Elk Island Nat. Park
- Flagstaff Co. near Daysland Heisler and Strome
- Fort Saskatchewan and Nrn Strathcona Co.
- Lamont Co. near Andrew and Wostok
- Lamont Co. near Bruderheim Lamont and Peno Creek
- Lamont Co. near Mundare Chipman and Ukrainian Village
- Leduc Co. near Leduc Beaumont and Kavanagh
- Leduc Co. near New Sarepta and Rolly View
- Sherwood Park
- Smoky Lake Co. near Smoky Lake and Waskatenau
- St. Albert

Areas to the north and east of Airdrie have also seen significant snowfall this week. Crews are working on clearing the roads but some still have snow and ice build up. The rainfall could make those areas worse for travel.
