On Dec. 20, 2024, Peace Regional RCMP responded to a report where an unknown, suspicious substance was located at a business in the area of 56 Street in Grimshaw.

Peace Regional RCMP urges community members to be aware of the dangers of various drugs, what they look like, and to ensure that if you find packages with suspicious substances that you suspect to be drugs of any kind, to call RCMP and do not touch these substances.
Drugs such as fentanyl can be found in the forms of powder, crystals, liquid, vapor or pills. Fentanyl can be absorbed through the skin or can be accidentally inhaled; Health Canada estimates that a lethal dose of pure fentanyl for a typical adult is as little as two milligrams, which visually, is approximately the size of a few grains of table salt.
Symptoms of fentanyl exposure can include, but are not limited to: sedation or drowsiness, pinpoint pupils, mood alterations, nausea, vomiting, respiratory depression, dizziness and nervous system depression; larger doses can lead to cardiac arrest and death.
If you are accidentally exposed to fentanyl, immediately seek medical attention.
