A young missionary who was violently killed while serving Jesus in Angola, Africa has officially been laid to rest.

44-year-old Beau Shroyer was killed on Oct. 25, 2024. Since then, three people, including, Shroyer's wife, Jackie, and Bernardino Elias, who worked as a security guard and housekeeper for the family, have been arrested. A fourth suspect remains on the lam.

Shroyer's family held a memorial service for Beau on Nov. 30, where they prayed and shared their favourite stories about Beau.

Beau was officially laid to rest on Saturday during a short, but meaningful graveside service surrounded by his family.

"We feel so blessed to have him "home", where we'll be able to visit him when we need that comfort," said his family in an update on a GoFundMe page set up to help support his return.

Shroyer's body was supposed to arrive in Minneapolis earlier this month, but due to cancellations and delays, his family had to reschedule his interment until Dec. 21.

"If you knew Beau, we hope you'll find humour in the fact that he was literally late to his own funeral! There's no doubt he'd have had a good laugh about it!"

The family continues to thank those who have prayed and supported them through this difficult time.
