St. Peter's College has had a year filled with memorable events aimed at enhancing the student experience, supporting prospective learners, and fostering a strong sense of community. According to Jordan Keller, Student Services Officer, the year began with a series of welcoming events for both new and prospective students.

"We kicked things off in January with our book reading and information nights," said Keller. "That laid the foundation for the months to follow, where we hosted open houses, our annual medieval feast, and new events like the student awards gala."

The college also hosted the Open House Extravaganza, where prospective students could experience university life firsthand.

"They had the opportunity to try out classes with our instructors and get a feel for what university expectations are like. We also took the time to provide information on scholarships and the application process," Keller explained.

As the academic year progressed, the college continued to offer programs that supported students of all ages. In the summer, St. Peter’s College hosted a Sci-Fi camp in collaboration with the University of Saskatchewan, designed for younger students to engage with science in a fun and interactive way.

"It was great to see kids exploring science while having a blast," said Keller.

Another important initiative was the Head Start program in August, which helped incoming first-year students prepare for university life.

"Students in the Head Start program get to meet their professors early, which gives them a bit of an advantage heading into the fall semester," Keller noted.

As the fall semester began, St. Peter’s College focused on ensuring students had the resources and support they needed.

"Orientation week was a huge success, with an excellent turnout. We also held our Student Awards Gala to celebrate students who received scholarships," Keller said. "In total, we gave away over $100,000 in scholarships, helping our students to achieve their academic goals."

Throughout the year, St. Peter’s College remained dedicated to career development with events like the Opportunities Edge and Health Link career fairs.

"These career fairs provide students with a chance to connect with potential employers, and they are one of the best ways to stay informed about opportunities in the community," Keller emphasized.

The year wrapped up with a festive spirit, as the college hosted Spirit Week and a Christmas party for students to celebrate the season and reflect on their achievements. "It’s a great way to end the year on a high note, bringing everyone together to enjoy the holidays," Keller said.

Looking ahead, Keller is optimistic about the continued growth and success of St. Peter's College.

"We’re always looking for ways to improve the student experience and to support our students every step of the way," Keller concluded.
