Muyres and Walker eliminated from contention at the Olympic Trials

Kirk Muyres and Laura Walker Olympic dreams were dashed on Thursday after they were eliminated from the Mixed Doubles Curling Canadian Olympic Trials in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. 

In their final matchup of the round robin, the Muyres and Walker were defeated by the Saskatoon duo of Nancy Martin and Steve Laycock 7-5.  

Muyres and Walker finished in a tie for third spot in their pool alongside Jennifer Jones and Brent Laing with 4-3 records, but Jones and Laing claimed the tiebreaker.  

Playoffs continue Friday with the Olympic trails wrapping up on Saturday. The winner of the trials will represent Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
