Christian apologist Wesley Huff recently sat down with Joe Rogan on his podcast to talk about the validity of Jesus's death on the cross.

The two men talked for three hours, with the discussion centering around the idea of Jesus death and resurrection. Rogan talked about an interesting theory that perhaps being on the cross didn't actually kill Jesus.

Rogan explained that recently, to support this theory that Jesus survived the beatings and being nailed to cross before presenting Himself to his followers later, that last year a man was pronounced deceased. Before the coroners were able to remove his organs, the man regained consciousness.

As the director of Apologetics Canada, Huff pointed out the improbabilities of that happening, starting with the reasoning that Romans used the cross not only as a torture method but a means to make sure a person died.

"The trauma would have been overwhelming, physically and visibly," Huff said during the interview.

He went on to share that even if by some chance a human being survived being crucified, they would have no capability three days later to walk around after what they endured.

Rogan, who is the number one most listened to podcaster, shared his upbringing with Huff. Rogan talked about growing up in a Roman Catholic household. Today, Rogan identifies as agnostic, yet says he is open to growing in his spiritual journey.

The Joe Rogan Experience podcast often has on people of all sorts of beliefs and theories, including those supporting Christianity.

"I used to dismiss the idea of a soul," says Rogan, "but now I’m more open to it."
