Siksika Nation has announced an optic fiber internet project.
According to Siksika, to begin the construction phase, Cross Cut Directional Boring Ltd. will need access to certain areas surrounding the FDC building within the fenced perimeter.
"These areas will be used to store construction materials," wrote Leonardo Berrocal, infrastructure and public works manager. "Currently, several of these areas are being used to store private property."
The Nation asks that members remove private property from the area no later than January 20. After this time, all remaining items will be moved to a designated corner of the site.
"Siksika Nation Tribal Administration and the Public Works Department will not be held responsible for any property left in these areas," added Berrocal.
According to the Nation, the project is a key part of improving internet connectivity and services for the Siksika community.
