Grand Ole Opry and country music legend, Buck White has died.

White, who is best known for founding the Whites, a band made up of himself and his two daughters, Sharon and Cheryl, died Monday morning.

"The Lord answered our prayers and took our daddy, Buck White, home peacefully this morning at 8:00 a.m.," said his daughters in a post on social media. "We are so thankful for his 94 years on this earth."

Ricky Skaggs, fellow country and bluegrass musician and husband of White's daughter, Sharon, posted the message on his social media.

"He was a great dad who taught us by example to put Jesus first always," said his daughters Sharon, Cheryl, Rosie and Melissa. "His great loves were the Lord, our mother, his family, and music. Most people will remember him not only for being a great musician and entertainer but also for being fun-loving and full of mischief. He lived a full life and finished well."

Fans and fellow musicians quickly responded saying he would be missed greatly.

"So sorry to hear this news. Buck was always so kind. He said some incredibly kind and spiritual things to me about my son years ago that I will never forget and always be grateful for," said singer and songwriter Jerry Salley. "He was a man of God, and the Lord’s light shined through him for all the years I knew him."

"Buck was one of the nicest guys I ever knew, I’m blessed to have known him. Thank God we know where he is and we can look forward to the reunion in heaven! I’ll be praying for you all" said another fan.

Buck was 94 years old.
