A recent college football game has garnered some extra attention, not for dramatic plays but for prayer.
A matchup between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Texas Longhorns from January 10 featured almost the entire Buckeye roster on their knees in prayer before the game.

Seeing nearly the whole team participate in the prayer has been what stunned fans.
There are several members from Ohio State who have been vocal about their Christian faith including running back TreVeyon Henderson, defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau, wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, and tight end Gee Scott Jr.
TreVeyon Henderson said in a post-game interview and responded to a post on X following the matchup. "Spending some time with the Lord on the sidelines, asking for forgiveness," after he got a penalty. "Helping me to turn away because that's not the person I want to be. His hand is always there. He picked me up in that moment."
Henderson also said he was thankful for his teammates. "I'm thankful for my brothers in Christ to be there to pick me up and help me focus on the Lord. God made a way.
I love you Lord, for your mercy never fails me

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”

When asked what it will take to get the next win his answer was simple, "Just keep seeking Jesus together. To keep trusting Him and growing with Him. Really just surrender, His will done not ours."
In August 2024, several players from Ohio State shared their faith with close to 1,000 people on campus. Following the event, around 60 people were baptized.
Wide receiver Emeka Egbuka said of the outreach, "We were praying for years and years for an event like this, and we were praying with expectation — we serve a miracle-working God. So we definitely had an expectation when it came out, but God did increasingly and abundantly more than what we thought. So, we're just so blessed and thankful."
