The Ladies Livestock Lessons (LLL) event will run on Friday (Jan. 17) in Acme, Alberta.
There will be a wide variety of speakers as well as workshops for women that are interested in starting a career in managing livestock.
"It was developed with the goals of encouraging and educating women in the business and to facilitate the opportunity to expand their professional network. We offer hands on activities, classroom sessions and the opportunity for women to socialize and connect with other women in the industry," mentioned LLL on its website.
According to the group, the first event was held in 2007 in Bowden, Alberta and since then hundreds of farming and ranching women have come together to showcase their experiences in the industry.
"Workshop sessions have included stock dog demonstrations, low-stress livestock handling, manure management, plant identification, riparian health, livestock health, and much, much more," added LLL.
The program is also open to women in Wheatland County and Rocky View County.
The event will be hosted at the Acme Community Centre and full details can be viewed here.
