The Grande Prairie Storm are off to an impressive start, currently holding second place in the AJHL North Division with a 19-10-3 record. This marks one of the best starts in franchise history as the team positions itself as a serious contender for the playoffs.
To strengthen their roster for the second half of the season, GM Mark Bomersback made three key moves following the CJHL trade deadline.
First, the Storm acquired forward Kalius Green from the Bonnyville Pontiacs in exchange for future considerations. Green, a versatile player from Kelowna, BC, brings 23 points in 27 games this season and can play both center and wing while contributing on special teams.
Next, the team signed free agent forward Carter Streek from Kamloops, BC. With over 190 Western Hockey League games under his belt, Streek adds experience and offensive firepower. His presence is expected to elevate the team’s power play and overall competitiveness.
Lastly, the Storm signed rookie defenseman Cade Kozak, a promising offensive-minded player from Isanti, MN. Kozak joins the team after starting the season with the Colorado Grit in the NAHL.
While these additions bolster the lineup, the Storm bid farewell to forwards Johnny Maruna and Damian Palmieri, who were traded for future considerations. The organization thanks them for their contributions and wishes them success with their new teams.
