Nominations are open for Alberta's highest honour.
In a news release sent out on Thursday (Jan. 16), the province encouraged Albertans to nominate community members, leaders, and innovators for membership in the Alberta Order of Excellence.
"The Order recognizes citizens who have made a significant and lasting contribution to their communities," wrote the province.
"Members include Olympians, scientists, volunteers, leaders in business, and artists."
Nominations for the award are accepted year-round but must be received by February 15 for consideration in 2025.
According to the province, nominees must be Canadian citizens who currently reside in Alberta and can attend the ceremony.
"People cannot nominate themselves, their spouse, or a member of their immediate family," mentioned the province.
Since the Alberta Order of Excellence was established in 1979, a total of 220 Albertans have received the recognition.
