The latest forecast indicates that worsening weather could complicate driving conditions this evening.

Periods of light snow and local blowing snow are expected, with winds from the north at 30 km/h, gusting to 50, increasing to 50 km/h, gusting to 70, early this evening. Winds will shift to northwest at 30 km/h, gusting to 50, overnight. Temperatures will drop to a low of minus 11, with wind chills making it feel like minus 8 this evening and minus 19 overnight.

On Friday, light snow is expected to end in the morning, followed by cloudy skies with a 30 per cent chance of flurries late in the morning and afternoon. Periods of snow are anticipated to begin late in the afternoon.

Winds will ease to northwest at 30 km/h, gusting to 50, before becoming light in the morning, and shifting to north at 20 km/h late in the day. A high of minus 8 is forecast, with wind chills feeling like minus 20 in the morning and minus 14 in the afternoon.

Friday night will bring periods of snow ending after midnight, with an expected 2 cm of accumulation before skies clear. Winds will pick up again to north at 30 km/h, gusting to 50, with a low of minus 24.

Wind chills will drop to minus 17 in the evening and minus 32 overnight, creating a risk of frostbite. Saturday will be sunny but bitterly cold, with a high of minus 17. Saturday night is expected to be clear, with temperatures plunging to a low of minus 27.

Drivers are encouraged to monitor updates, allow extra travel time, and ensure their vehicles are equipped for winter conditions.
