A cold front arrives in the Strathmore area this weekend.

There's a frostbite risk entering Strathmore over the weekend.

According to our forecast, the evening on Friday (Jan. 17) will bring in light snow and 50 km/h gusts of wind, making the overnight low of -20°C feel closer to -29°C with the wind chill.

Saturday keeps the wind around with partly cloudy skies that clear in the morning. There are also expected to be flurries with a high of -17°C with a wind chill of -30°C in the morning and -24°C in the afternoon. 

Saturday night calls for clear skies and a low of -29°C.

Sunday ends the week with sunny skies alongside a cold high of -21°C that drops down to -32°C overnight.

This is the first overnight low below -30°C during this winter in the Strathmore area.

Next week we'll see temperatures quickly warming up, with Wednesday expecting a daytime high of 1°C.
