The blowing snow advisory has ended.
Late on Friday evening, residents in Airdrie and Crossfield were warned to prepare for hazardous travel conditions as Environment Canada issued a blowing snow advisory.

A band of heavy snow was forecast to move southward late tonight, followed by strong north winds gusting up to 60 km/h. The combination of snow and gusty winds was expected to create blowing snow.
Periods of snow were expected to end after midnight, leaving partly cloudy skies and a 30 per cent chance of flurries.
Temperatures were forecast to drop to -25 overnight, with wind chill values expected to reach -33.
Saturday is expected to bring a mix of sun and cloud with a high of -16, though wind chill values may make it feel closer to -37 in the morning and -20 by the afternoon. Frostbite risk is expected to remain high throughout the day.
Blowing snow advisories are issued when winds are expected to reduce visibility to 800 metres or less for at least three hours.
