The City of Chestermere is hosting its Big Fun Planning Night on Monday (Jan. 20).

The city is inviting the public to drop in and share their thoughts on the Municipal Development Plan.

The event runs from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Chestermere Recreation Centre and is designed to encourage the community to contribute to positively shaping Chestermere's future over the next 25 years.

"The current Municipal Development Plan (MDP) is nearly 10 years old, and a lot has changed, so it’s time to reflect on where we are today and where we’d like to go," mentioned the city in a news release.

According to the city, the new MDP will address housing, infrastructure costs, managing tax and service delivery, finding recreational opportunities, and economic development.

The city is currently in round 2 of engagement and will finalize the MDP between now and May with the approval process starting as early as June.
