Nominations have officially opened for the 2025 municipal election in Rocky View County, which will take place on October 20.

With county elections, residents are divided into divisions, with seven wards serving the county. Langdon is included in Ward 7.

The last chance to submit your papers is September 22. Candidates must provide a $100 deposit and a criminal record check.

There are a few things that could disqualify residents from running for office in the election:

  • Being an employee of the county unless staff take a leave of absence from their position to run for office
  • Being indebted to the county up to $500 and being in debt for more than 90 days 
  • Convicted of an offense under the Local Authorities Election Act, the provincial Election Act, the provincial Election Finances and Contributions Disclosure Act, or the federal Canada Elections Act in the last 10 years

  • Samantha Wright, Division 4
  • Greg Boehlke, Division 5
  • Sunny Samra, Division 6
  • Al Schule, Division 7
