The Village of Rockyford is revving up its engines for its fifth annual Show & Shine.
Lisa Bennett, library manager at Rockyford Library says there have been a wide variety of vehicles on display in the past.
"We'll get hot rods, we'll get the old vintage, we'll get even modern ones, we'll get trucks."
According to Bennett, over the past few years, people have been coming in from all across Alberta to attend the event including Red Deer, Okotoks, Strathmore, Airdrie, Calgary, Drumheller, and Hanna.
She told StrathmoreNow that Rockyford is a close-knit community, especially when it comes to cars.
"There's quite a few residents in there that have got their own vehicles. They come, but then they'll tell the family and friends, so they'll come with their vehicles."
There is a $20 registration fee for vehicles which will go back into the Rockyford Library.
"Which will then go to the adult program, the kid's programs, the senior programs that we offer. We also do toddlers and kids. It'll also be used to buy new books and new DVDs and any other events we may do," added Bennett.
Awards will also be handed out like Best in Show, Best Original, and Most Unique.
Bennett said there's also a kid's category this year for the Best Kids Card-board Box Vehicle.
There will also be vendors, a beer garden, 50/50 tickets, food and drinks, music, door prizes, and a lemonade stand.
The event will be hosted at the Rockyford Library at the back of the community hall building on the grass on August 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
