Lead singer of Rend Collective opens up about depression

Chris Llewellyn, the lead singer of the Christian band Rend Collective, is opening up about his battle with depression, including in their new single. 

Rend Collective released a new single "Fight of Your Life" on Jan. 24, 2025. 

"This song is really personal to me," says Llewellyn on the band's social media. "It's all about my own fight of my life which is my battle with depression. The fight for mental health."

The band commented on the new single calling it the "most joyful song about depression." Rend Collective, a band from Northern Ireland, is known for its upbeat, stomp-your-feet kind of feeling. 

In a prior interview in 2023 with Worship Leader, Llewellyn opened up about his son who has severe autism and how it's been a struggle and blessing for the family. 

"Even inside that battle, I find that Jesus has been my joy and has been my hope. I want to give an anthem for people who are going through similar things."

This spring the band will be touring across the U.S.A as well as Canada for their Folk! Tour.
